Flood-ed Opportunity to Support

added on 11, Dec 2015 by Mohan in Social Thoughts

Chennai Floods have turned the city upside down. Flood ravaged streets, damaged assets, piles of garbage and distressed faces symbolizes the havoc caused by the floods across the city. But the floods have also brought the best out of this civic society. City roads are busy with energetic volunteers, vehicles carrying relief materials from various parts of the country. Social networks have become a primary media in coordinating the relief and rehabilitation work for the flood affected zones of Chennai and Cuddalore. And the floods have also brought us to mainstream fieldwork, after the gap of five years.

This is the city that gave life to millions of people like us. This is the city that connected us together under the name of Blossom Foundation. And we are deeply moved to see the plight of our people. Our team is in the flood affected zones since day one connecting people during dark hours and providing immediate relief materials in the flood affected areas of North Chennai. Currently we are drafting a detailed plan to distribute the rehabilitation materials in the flood affected zones of Cuddalore district.

At this moment, we would like to thank our friends who reached out to us in looking for all possible ways to support Chennai and Cuddalore. This floods has given us an opportunity to be an active member in helping our beloved society. We are all in to intensify our efforts not just towards this flood rehabilitation also to our core areas of rural education and supporting the under-privileged people.

Let’s stay connected and do our best...
